Collaboration between Ash and Jas

VVAI combines the Maori term for water (wai) with its Samoan equivalent (vai). The result is a word with pictorial properties reminiscent of Maori taniko, or the beginning of a Samoan tatau. Indigenous narrative, knowledge, and the waters of this earth are vital to the Pacific and her peoples.
VVAI explores the spiritual and cultural connections of Pacific people, specifically our own
(Samoan and Maori), to water and land, formed on, and through story-telling.
